The snow was falling outside, making everything look white and beautiful. Inside the warm house, Shinchan was playing with his toys. His puppy, Shiro, was chasing his tail. Shinchan's grandma, Obaasan, was sitting on the floor with them. She was knitting a long, colorful scarf. It was a special scarf, just for Shinchan.

"Obaasan," Shinchan said, dropping his toy car, "will you tell me a story?"

Obaasan smiled. "Of course, Shin-chan," she said. "But first, I need to finish this row." She held up the scarf to show him. It was almost as long as Shinchan was tall!

Shinchan was impatient. He wanted to hear the story now! He had an idea. He looked at Shiro with a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

"Shiro," he whispered, "Let's go see what Obaasan is making!"

Shiro wagged his tail and followed Shinchan as they crawled closer to Obaasan. They tried to peek at the scarf, but Obaasan saw them.

"Oh no you don't!" she said, laughing. "It's a surprise!"

Shinchan giggled. He loved surprises, especially from Obaasan. She always had the best surprises.

Finally, Obaasan put down her knitting. "Now," she said, "what kind of story would you like?"

"A scary story!" Shinchan shouted, making Shiro bark with surprise.

Suddenly, the wind howled outside, making the windows rattle. Shinchan felt a little bit scared and hugged Obaasan tightly.

Obaasan hugged him back. "Don't worry, Shin-chan," she said softly. "I'm here with you."

Shinchan felt safe and warm in Obaasan's hug. He knew that with Obaasan and Shiro by his side, he didn't have to be afraid of anything, not even a silly snow monster.

Obaasan continued the story, making funny voices for the monster and the people he played tricks on. Shinchan and Shiro laughed until their bellies hurt.

When the story was finished, Shinchan yawned. He was feeling sleepy.

"Thank you for the story, Obaasan," he said, snuggling closer.

"You're welcome, Shin-chan," Obaasan said, kissing him on the head. "Sweet dreams."

Shinchan closed his eyes and fell fast asleep, dreaming of friendly snow monsters and colorful scarves. Shiro curled up next to him, and Obaasan watched over them both, smiling. The snow continued to fall outside, but inside, it was warm, cozy, and full of lov
